Egg Retrieval. Check!

Last time as soon as I woke up from the anesthetic I looked straight at my hand and saw '17' written on it. 17 eggs! This time my hand was blank. I was in lots of pain and started freaking out a bit.

me (In the hospital bed, in pain and still all groggy like) : So how many eggs did they get?

nurse: 19! I have already told you like 4 times

me: (yeah well i seem to be slightly out of it) Last time they wrote it on my hand

nurse: Well Dr C (the anethetist) doesn't do that for some reason

me: oh....can you write it? (well someone should! He did LAST time)

nurse: i'll write for you

me: (gee thanks! Now maybe I won't be such a bother)

big enough you think? ;-)

* Really the nurses were super nice - I was just out of it....

19 feels like a good number!

After some more pain meds I moved to the recovery lounge. I got treated very nice. Toasty warm blankets, sandwiches and apple juice :-) DH arrived and then the clinic nurse came to see me. I got the whole be aware of OHSS speech (which I never got last time). Hubby drove me home - after stopping to stock up on protein powder, chips and DVD's. I'm feeling very sore - much sorer than last time. I spent the rest of the day snacking on protein, sleeping and watching DVD's. Twighlight and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. Tomorrow I plan to do the same! Different movies though :-) I'm so glad I don't have to go to work tomorrow, like last time. Bring on the relaxation!

So 19 eggs! I'm not sure if that's that's better or worse than 12-13. Not sure if 'the more the better' applies in this case. The Doc said he would be really happy with 12. Last time I got 17. Anyway I refuse to worry - i'm just curious...

I get the fert report tomorrow arvo - I can't wait

Thanks to all those who stopped by and wished me well!!! It means soooo much to me.

I hope to catch up on reading and commenting soon!

Incubating my eggs

Well finally an update, I can't believe how fast the time has gone since my last post. This cycle started badly. My first 2 weeks on Lupron were a nightmare. I wasn't getting any work. I was negative.reclusive.depressed.scared. I am thankful to report that things have turned around and am now feeling much better.Optimistic and myself again. I got some great advice from you guys and it helped put things in persepective.

For the last 2 week I've been working my school holiday job and also picked up some hours working in another department. I've been working so much that I haven't had much computer time. The busyness has been good as it has kept my mind from drifting down the that dreaded negative road. The road where I would be cancelled again. Instead I have been feeling suprising good and very hopeful that this cycle will work. Thanks for the prayers!

Today I am resting. I feel like a hen sitting on her eggs! A bit bloated and a bit tender but happy I have happy ovaries and many good follicles. I had my final bloodtest and scan on Thursay - everything is great!

Tonight I trigger with Ovidrel!

Egg Retrieval is set for Tues morning. I am so so thankful...

My Doc is hoping for beteen 8 and 13 eggs (last time I had 17). I pray that however many they get - it will be the right amount! I pray for DH's swimmers, that they will be healthy, that there will be enough, that fertilisation will be a success. For strong growing embies!

I am so encouraged by all my blog buddies BFP's. I so hope and pray that this month will be my month. I know that God has a plan, it may not be the same as my plan but today I feel at peace.
It feels like things are falling into place.

what not to eat?

A new cycle, a new look and a new name!

Paranoia has set in! I'm fearful of the real lifers finding me :) I'm not ready for that....

...so I have changed my display name to 'neeta' and will now also be signing my comments as 'Hope.Faith.Patience'. I was using my real first name but I googled it the other day along with 'IVF' and found the links to my blog on Lost and Found. ha! I'll just blame the paranoia on the good old Lupron since it's my excuse for most things these day. Laziness. Lethargy. Moodiness. Mild Insanity. Eating copious amounts of chocolate....oh yeah! Whilst on the topic of chocolate - should I be eating it during my cycle?? I know I should avoid caffeine so I'm thinking this might include chocolate. Okay... no more chocolate for meeee!

What has your RE told you that you can and can't eat? My clinic info says, "It is advisable that you avoid Alcohol, caffeine, Coke, Red Bull and the like". There have been so many BPF's out there in blogland lately. I'd love to know what you ladies did or didn't do that you think may have helped your chances.

Also what exercise have you been advised to do, my info says 'Gentle exercise is encouraged during treatment' . I wish they would be more specific :)

Yep! I know I know I should ask my Doc. But i'm sure I'll learn more from all of you lovely internets ;-)

let the games begin

IVF/ICSI #2.1 is now underway. Today is day 2 of Lupron....

Right now my heart is aching, I want this to work so badly that's it all I can think about. I feel like I have a huge gaping hole in my heart that needs to be filled. I need to be positive. I need to FEEL positive! But right now I am filled with worry that this may not work.

I'm in need of a big dose of optimism...

This will work...This will work...This WILL work.....THIS WILL WORK!!!!!!

Opps! This is the new edited Honest scrap and more tags version 2

Silly me! Somehow how the draft version of this post was posted by accident a few days ago. hmmm...it was still a work in process and not even finished. So for those of you who read it and thought maybe I was on drugs, that's why it was all disjointed and weird...oops

Anyway thank goodness I spotted it - I have now fixed it up and it's ready to read below :)

----------------------------------------------------------------

Last week I got "tagged" with the Honest Scrap award by
Fashionably Infertile. Thanks! I was really excited to receive it! Just a bit slow to write it :)

Here are the rules:1) Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design.2) Show the 7 winners names and links on your blog, and leave a comment informing them that they were prized with "Honest Scrap." Well, there's no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon. 3) List at least 10 honest things about yourself.

And....

I also got tagged awhile ago by
Wishing 4 One. It's taken me awhile to finally get around to doing it - i'm a major procrastinator!

The rules are:
Link to the person who tagged you,
Share 7 random and/or weird facts about you.
Tag 7 random people at the end, and include links to their blogs.

So.....

I have combined the 10 scraps plus the 7 facts together to equal 17 random things about me.

Here goes...

1. I have twin sisters, who are 6 years younger than me. They are both getting married this year. I get to be a bridesmaid twice. First time ever.

2. I love Thai food - my fav is spicy prawns. I love it so spicy that it makes my nose run! I also love Pad thai and coconut rice!

3. Choc-mint ice-cream is my favorite! Chocolate and mint are the best combination !

4. I love dunking my cookies in something (milk, tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc...) - I am not a
fan of eating them dry. In Australia we have something called a Tim.Tam Slam - where you take a Tim.Tam biscuit, then bite a bit off each end and suck your hot beverage through it like a straw. It then goes mushy and melted and you eat it in 1 large gulp. It sounds gross but you have to try it!! You'd love it i'm sure...

5. I sleep with my mouth wide open... and i drool (DH told me this one - doesn't everyone slept like this?)

6. I obsessively like to double check most things - like that the that the doors are locked each night, that the iron is off and that the toaster and kettle are turned off at the wall.

7. I love chick flicks (who doesn't?) and movies set in India (like Monsoon wedding, Slumdog Millionaire, Bride and Prejudice

8.Reading is my addiction - I have to limit myself sometimes because I've been known to stay up all night trying to finish a book.

9.I never wear shorts or skirts above my knee in public. I have lots of spider veins and really hate my legs.
10.I could live on Avocados - I love them with salt, pepper and vinegar
11. I love food - can't you tell by all the food related facts....

12.I watch way too much T.V which I PVR and watch at my earliest convenience- my favs are NCIS and Bones...and the Mentalist...and Criminal Minds. Gosh! The list goes on ...

13. I'm really scared i'll never have a child

14.I'm really interested in health and fitness stuff and like to read about it...but I have a really hard time putting it into practice and sticking with healthy eating or exercise plans

16.Large social situations, where you don't really know anyone, really freaks me out- I hate having to make small talk (especially now that i'm going through IF and half the time I feel like i'm screaming on the inside)

17. I would love to have a HUGE veggie patch but don't have enough space. My veggies in pots all seem to die.

You are now tagged!!! Yes you!

I know most of you have already done this. So for today I won't be tagging anyone specifically. If you would like to share then please consider yourself tagged my me :)

I can't think of a title today :)

Hi everyone,

My apologies for my lack of posts, i'm ok - just a bit lazy :)

Here's a quick update on stuff....

I am almost all recovered - I still have some pain on the left side (like a sharp, pulling, ripping feeling) when I move certain ways. It comes and goes...I called the Doctor about it a few days ago. He said it's normal and to give it about a month before it's all healed. It hurts alot when I go to the bathroom - and i'm wondering if of any of the adhesions affected my bladder or bowel. I need to ask him more when I see him. Today I went to the gym for the first time in ages - it felt good and hopefully I can stick to it. I took it easy walked on the treadmill for a bit and did some weights and stretching . I would really like to go into my next cycle feeling fit and healthy. At the moment I feel bloated and chunky. Even if I don't lose anything, I know some exercise will improve my mood and the way I feel about myself.

Yesterday I got a bill from the pathology lab for the tissue samples from the surgery. I realised that I hadn't heard anything about the results yet. So I called the clinic only to be told by the receptionist that yes there were results for me but that Dr.C would call me himself and give them to me. That made me worried! Surely if everything was ok the receptionist could have just told me. hmmmm so now i'm waiting for him to call and i'm worried. He didn't call today - I hope he does tomorrow! Arrgggghhhh....

So anyway I just wanted to let you know that I won't be blogging much in the next few weeks. I'm not much of a writer and I don't seem to have much to say lately. I'm a bit boring :) I feel guilty for not having anything witty or interesting to say...

So if you don't see any posts from me, don't worry i'm ok - it's just that at the moment I like reading your blogs much much more than actually writing my own :)

As soon as I start cycling again i'll be back - in the meantime i'll be regularly reading your blogs and commenting :)

Thanks again for your comments, it means the world to me to be part of this community.

A
oxxo

p.s - I've got some tags to catch up on so i'll be back soon with those...i promise. Wishy I haven't forgotten about the one you sent me. I'm just very very slack...
