Since Surgery

Thanks for all your messages! You're all the best !

I was so happy to receive my Wall Blank art today, I opened my door this morning and there it was waiting on my doorstep :) Baby Smiling in Back Seat gave it to me for a giveaway. She posted a Show and Tell about it last week along with the art she bought for herself, go and check it out here (scroll down to the Feb 14th post). I love it!!!

Here's a quick summery of how my surgery followup appointment went on Thursday-

When I woke up in Thurday I still felt pretty sore and wondered why an earth I had made a Doctors appointment so soon. Staying in bed seemed a better option :) My Doctor had previously told me he could talk to me over the phone, but that I could go into his office if I was feeling ok. Plus it's only 10mins from home.

Anyway I chose to go into see him for 2 reasons - Firstly I don't often to get face time with him and secondly a month ago I booked an appointment with the psychologist who works in my fertility clinic downstairs from him. My clinic offers 'free' therapy for anyone going through treatment with them. But the Psychologist(lets call her P) is only there every second Thursday. I had waited so long for the appointment with her that I didn't want to cancel. So my appointment with P was at 1pm-2.00. We just chatted and it was nice to talk to a therapist experienced in dealing with IF patients. She was lovely and empathetic and seemed to genuinely understand the immense grief that IF brings...I left there feeling lighter.

The Dr's appointment at 2.30 went well. He confirmed that there was some endo and adhesions on both sides that he removed. He showed photos of it all and the cyst being drained. I found it hard to tell what was supposed to be there and what wasn't. I'm glad he could tell the difference! Thankfully inside my uterus looked good. I spent the rest of the day sleeping :)

Now the wait for AF begins, hopefully she'll be here in a few weeks. I've lost track of where my cycle is. Once AF starts, then I'll start the pill for my next IVF. If all goes well we'll have an ER before Easter. I am really hoping and praying that we get to ER and ET this time. I don't think I could face another cancellation.

What should I call my next IVF - #2 or #3?? So far I have had 1 fresh cycle, 1 cancelled FET, 1 FET and lastly 1 Cancelled fresh cycle after 6 days of stims. I suppose it's technically IVF #2 if it goes ahead but in my mind it feels #3. Do you count your cancelled cycles?

Have a good week!!

A xoxo

recovering

My surgery went well yesterday (Lap, hysterscope &Curette). Thanks so much for you thoughts and support, it means the world to me!

Here's a quick summery...

I went in at 6.45am and got home at 2.30pm. I spent several hours in the recovery room drifting in and out of sleep. I was in quite alot of pain but they regularly gave me pain relief through my IV which was a great help! I also got to snack on some cookies and an lemonade iceblock cause my blood sugar/pressure was low.

I asked the nurses what the Doctor found and did, but they were relunctant to tell me anything because my Doctor doesn't like them giving to much info while the patient is still recovering. All they told me was that they found some endo and he separated some adhesions. I am going to see the Doc tomorrow so i'll find out more detail then.

When I got home I started to watch a movies but fell asleep within the first 5 minutes with the remote still in my hand. I woke up at 6 and felt pretty good so I made hubby grilled salmon and salad for dinner and tried to walk around for a bit. My abdomen is really sore, like really bad period pain but it's fine when i'm still. It when I roll over, bend or get up that it hurts the most. I have 3 incisions - my belly button, bikini line centre and bikini line left. After dinner I went back to bed to read, i'm currently reading Voice in the Wind by Francine Rivers.

This morning I woke up the ate some oats, then watched the movie House Bunny and then slept some more. Now i'm on the couch watching The Biggest Loser on PVR (i'm going to watch NCIS next) and read some blogs!

Thanks for reading... i'm looking forward to reading your blogs soon!

Super annoyed!

Ha! 2 posts in the space of 2 hours! I've set myself a record. In my last post I said I was going to sleep...well that didn't happen. I checked my facebook (aka Crackbook) instead. It tipped me over the edge and now i seriously need to vent otherwise i'll never sleep! Facebook is crap, I don't know why I even bother checking the newsfeeds. Oh that's right - i'm addicted to it! I just can't help myself. It is filled with baby this and baby that... status updates about mommy not getting enough sleep , morning sickness blah blah and blah. And lets not forget the tonnes of photos straight from the delivery room! Then today - the straw that broke the camels back- I get tagged to fill out a questionaire about my ....FIRSTBORN!! Hey hang on! I don't have a first born!! Why would you even send this to me??? The friend who send it to me filled out all these questions about her firstborn's birth etc... and tagged a whole list of people to do the same. This friend knows we are struggling with IF. She knows we have been trying since before she even fell pregant with her first (she now has 2).... so why send it to me? To make me feel even worse - out of the list of people she sent the tag to, 99.9% of them have either a baby in their profile pic or a baby bump.

In her defence - she probably just automatically sent it to all her female friends.....and I guess it's not her fault i'm the only one with IF.

Anyway i feel better now....less like throwing something across the room.

Now I have to go and check my facebook again! Just quickly and then i'm really going to sleep....i'm tragic

Valentines

These are the lovely flowers my hubby gave me for Valentines. The smell sooo good! He loved the cookies and they are almost all gone!!

We spent the day relaxing at home and then in the evening went to the movies to watch this.
I really enjoyed it!
DH enjoyed it too but afterwards wanted to discuss it in detail - the ending, the plot, the love story etc..etc.... He loves picking apart movies and analysing them. This has the potential to drive me crazy, especially if I really enjoyed it - the talking about it to much afterwards takes away some of the pleasure for me. I felt like I had to defend the movie - crazy I know! It almost resulted in a huge argument (over something sooo silly) but we managed to navigate our way through the discussion and the evening ended happily.
Anyway I have to get to sleep now - I have to be at the hospital nice and early for my surgery tomorrow - 6.45am! I hope I can wake up ok :) I think sleeping tonight will be a bit hard...i'm feeling a bit anxious...and when i'm anxious sleep doesn't come easy...
Thinking of you all!

me again...and cookies!!

Hi there! Sorry for my lack of posting or commenting. I can't believe how fast the last 2 weeks have flown by! We went away last weekend and I've have also been feeling depressed - things with DH were a bit tense. I really find it difficult expressing it all into writing - hence my lack of blogging!

Anyway good news is that I seem to have snapped out of it and am now feeling more 'normal' and less crazy.  AF has been and gone. The emotional rollercoaster has slowed down  :)  DH and I are doing ok now. We saw a marriage therapist and that has been a huge help  to our communication issues - plus i'm trying to be less grumpy and snappy.  I have also been feeling depressed about my teaching job and lack of work - but that's another story...I think I
want a career change but have no idea what to do.

I saw the Doctor today and had a pre-op info session for my surgery. I didn't really learn anything new since I'd already visited Dr.google and done some research  :) 4 sleeps to go!

Today I baked some Valentines cookies. It was my first time making iced sugar cookies - so it was very experimental :) Some of my icing was a little runny and went all over the place but I feel pretty proud of my efforts :) I hope they taste good!

Thanks again everyone for your words of support! Thanks Hillary and Wishy for checking in on me :)

There are so many wonderful blogs I read and I'll be catching up on commenting this weekend for sure!!

Thinking of you!
